It was stated that 77-year-old Baybaş was prohibited from leaving the country on the grounds that he did not attend a hearing for a case filed against him in Saudi Arabia. Diplomatic efforts regarding the situation of Baybaş, who remained stranded in the country for many years, have yielded results.
Following efforts conducted by Turkey's Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate General in Jeddah with Saudi Arabian authorities, all travel and administrative bans on Baybaş were lifted.
