The details of the funeral schedule for Iran's former supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, have been clarified. According to information shared by Iranian state television, the first ceremony for Khamenei, who lost his life in the attack carried out by the US and Israel on February 28, will be held in the capital, Tehran.

The first memorial event in Tehran will take place at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla Mosque for two days starting from July 4. It was subsequently announced that a second ceremony would be held in Tehran on July 6.

The funeral proceedings will then move to cities of religious and cultural significance in Iran. A ceremony will be held in the city of Qom on July 7. Finally, following the memorial event to be held in Mashhad on July 9, the late leader's body will be laid to rest in a special area prepared for him at the Imam Reza Shrine in Mashhad.

While Khamenei's passing has caused a major stir in Iran and on the international stage, it is expected that the funeral process will see high participation across the country.
