Aliyev accuses France of arming Armenia

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made statements regarding the current agenda to local television channels. Stating that justice prevailed in the Karabakh issue, Aliyev said, "We completed our righteous work and ensured justice ourselves. However, unfortunately, international actors do not share our view.

On the contrary, they tried to blame us and attempted to initiate various pressure mechanisms against us.

We achieved this justice by waging a political and diplomatic war at the international level. Therefore, our victory is even more important for this reason," he said.

"IT WAS THE FINAL POINT OF OUR VICTORY"

Stating that while raising the Azerbaijani flag in Khankendi, he felt that the blood of the victims of the Khojaly massacre had not been left unavenged, Aliyev said, "Raising our flag in Khankendi was the complete restoration of justice and the final point of our victory. These were historic moments. We are all happy to live in this era, we are witnesses of this period, and we contributed to the achievement of this great victory. Every segment of our people brought this victory closer with their work," he said.

Expressing that they conducted negotiations in a way that would face minimal external pressure to achieve their goals, Aliyev said, "But for me, the main thing was that this was a historical issue, a nationwide issue, and it was not necessary to pursue a success that could be deemed appropriate here.

We must solve the problem fundamentally, we must solve it definitively, we must fully restore our territorial integrity and sovereignty. There should be no nest of separatism in our country; if our generation is not lucky enough to do this, we must raise such a young generation that they will come and do it in 20, 30, or 50 years. This was the main issue," he said.

GREAT HEROISM

Stating that the events of April 23 were a very important date, Aliyev said, "From that date on, we started to control all borders and showed once again that we are the owners of these lands. As a result of the 'Farrukh', 'Sarıbaba-Kırkgız', and 'Kısas' operations, the strategic hills and heights of the Karabakh region that were not under our control at that time were taken under our control, and this was of great importance in terms of the September 19-20 operation process.

So these operations were purposeful operations. The anti-terror operation was carried out very successfully and professionally, and our soldiers showed great heroism. Although it is said that the operation lasted 23 hours and 23 minutes, it was actually completed in a shorter time.

We took all the positions we planned in the operation, we had all our communications, we captured all the heights, and in fact, the surrender of the separatists was inevitable; if they had not surrendered, they would have been destroyed. There could be no other option," he stated.

REMINDER OF THREAT AND ARROGANCE

Emphasizing that they were aware of what was happening in Karabakh after the Second Karabakh War, Aliyev said, "We followed this process both visually and operationally. In other words, we were trying to explain to Armenia that this was under our control and that we could carry out an operation at any moment.

I had clearly told both the Armenian administration and international actors that I could press the button and carry out this operation in a minute, and that they would not be able to do anything.

These events should be a lesson not only for Armenia but also for those who stand behind Armenia. It is not possible to approach us with threats and arrogance," he said.

Stating that people and goods should pass between the lands of Azerbaijan without any border control, Aliyev said, "Otherwise, Armenia will remain an eternal dead end; if the Zangezur Corridor I mentioned is not opened, we have no intention of opening our border with Armenia anywhere else. So they will suffer more harm than good from this," he said.

"IT IS FRANCE THAT IS PREPARING ARMENIA FOR WAR"

Emphasizing that the negativity coming to Azerbaijan from certain places will not end, Aliyev said, "The purpose of arming Armenia is to keep us under constant pressure.

These are efforts aimed at preventing us from living comfortably in the future. Unfortunately, France is at the forefront here as well. Today, it is France that is arming, supporting, and preparing Armenia for the next war.

That is why I meant this when I said that France's policy causes tension in the Caucasus," he stated.

"THE FIRST PERSON I WOULD CALL IS ERDOĞAN"

Explaining the names of the people he talked to the most on the phone during the Second Karabakh War, Aliyev said, "The people I talked to the most on the phone during the Second Karabakh War were Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This is natural; the fact that the President of Turkey was with us from the first day of the war to the last day, and his political and moral support for Azerbaijan, was a message to many people.

Today, if our country faces a serious problem, the first person I would call would of course be my brother Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and I would inform him," he said.

RETURNING TO KARABAKH

Pointing out that infrastructure projects in Karabakh are continuing rapidly, Aliyev said, "This year, more people will be given the opportunity to return to their ancestral lands. This year, five cities are among the cities where people will return: Shusha, Jabrayil, Kalbajar, Khankendi, and Khojaly. In 2025, we plan for our citizens to return to the cities of Aghdam, Zangilan, and Gubadli. The villages of Lachin, Fuzuli, Aghali, Talish, and Zabukh are already coming to life. This year, the return of our forcibly displaced people to these settlements will continue. All infrastructure projects in Karabakh and East Zangezur will continue this year as well. These are very large projects," he said.
