Following the capture of Hama by anti-Assad jihadist groups, reports are circulating about gunfire at government buildings in Damascus and an alleged military coup against Assad.

In Syria, jihadist groups led by the Al-Qaeda-linked Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) organization have launched a major operation against Assad's forces.
In the operation that began from Idlib, large groups of rebels have captured most of Aleppo.
The rebel groups have also established control over the entirety of Idlib. Armed groups opposed to Bashar al-Assad in Syria have recaptured Maarrat al-Nu'man, the largest district in Idlib province, from Assad's forces.
RUSSIAN JETS STRUCK REBELS
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that rebels control a large part of Aleppo and that Russia has conducted airstrikes on Aleppo for the first time since 2016.
The Observatory stated, "Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and allied groups have taken control of most of the city, government centers, and prisons."
Two Syrian military sources speaking to Reuters also reported that Russian and Syrian jets bombed rebels in a suburb of Aleppo.
MINISTER FİDAN: TURKEY IS NOT INVOLVED IN THE CONFLICTS
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, in his statement at the TRT World Forum, said that Turkey is not involved in the ongoing conflicts in Aleppo.
Stating that Turkey has taken the necessary precautions on the Syrian border, Hakan Fidan added, "We will not engage in any action that would trigger a new wave of migration."
ALLEGATIONS OF A COUP IN DAMASCUS
Following claims that gunfire was opened on government buildings in Damascus and that state television channels had cut their broadcasts, journalist İbrahim Bozan, who is in Aleppo, joined a live broadcast on tv100 and made the following statement regarding the coup allegations:
In Syria, the administration is divided between two brothers, Maher and Bashar al-Assad. While the military wing, which is close to Iran, is managed by Maher, Bashar al-Assad, who leans toward Russia, is in charge of the country's administration.
It is known that there are serious tensions between the two brothers from time to time.
As for the coup allegation, we have heard these reports here as well, and news has reached our ears that Brigadier General Hussam Louka, the head of General Intelligence, has attempted such a move.
However, since the environment and the flow of information are extremely chaotic at the moment, the matter has not been clarified, and no new news has arrived regarding the coup attempt allegations.
