Allegations of Chinese-made spy satellite use in Iran's attacks on US bases

According to reports based on leaked military documents and orbital analyses, a spy satellite named "TEE-01B," produced by a China-based company, was allegedly purchased by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps after being launched into space in late 2024 and has been used for military purposes.

CHINESE-MADE SATELLITE COLLECTED IMAGES BEFORE ATTACKS

According to the reports, the satellite's approximately half-meter resolution allowed for detailed monitoring of US military bases in the Middle East. The satellite was positioned over US military facilities stationed in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, and Iraq, and was used to collect images from the region, particularly immediately before and after drone and missile attacks. Analyses indicate that the data obtained with this satellite played a role in guiding the attacks.

It is also alleged that Iran obtained authorization to access satellite data from the global ground stations of "Emposat," a Beijing-based firm, thereby enabling data access across a vast geography, not only from Iran but from Asia to Latin America.

Experts agree that the use of such comprehensive military technology by Iran represents a significant leap in the country's intelligence capabilities. Furthermore, it is stated that it is unlikely such a technology transfer could have occurred without the knowledge of the Chinese government.

TRUMP THREATENS 50 PERCENT TARIFF

US President Donald Trump had announced that a 50 percent tariff could be imposed on states that provide military equipment to Iran. In response to a question, Trump stated, "Yes, China and probably other countries. But China is definitely included in that. I've heard reports that China is giving [Iran] shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles. I don't always trust those reports. I don't think they would do that, maybe they did a little bit in the beginning. But if we catch any country, including China, providing military equipment to Iran, they will face a 50 percent tariff."

These allegations that a Chinese-made satellite was used for military attacks are considered to have the potential to open a new front in geopolitical tensions between the US and China in the future.
