Alleged leader of terrorist organization PKK/YPG detained in Sweden
It has emerged that Shiyar Ali, an alleged leader of the terrorist organization PKK/YPG, was detained by police in Sweden on May 11.

According to a report by the newspaper Gavle Dagbladet (GD), officers from the Swedish Security Service (SEPO) raided Ali's home and seized his computer and digital materials.
SEPO officials reached by the GD newspaper stated that they do not provide information to the media regarding such operations and would not make a statement.
The newspaper published a photograph of Ali being detained in handcuffs, noting that there has been no word from him and his whereabouts remain unknown.
Ali had appeared before the Stockholm Nacka District Court on January 16, 2023, on suspicion of laundering approximately 400 thousand euros.
It was revealed that Ali had brought the money, which he claimed was "aid collected for northern Syria," by vehicle on October 27, 2017, from a so-called PKK/YPG office in the town of Troisdorf, located between the German cities of Cologne and Bonn.
In 2017, Swedish police raided the Newroz TV (Aryen) channel, which is located in the Nacka district of the capital Stockholm and conducts propaganda for the terrorist organization PKK/YPG in Europe, seized 400 thousand euros at the channel, and launched an investigation into Shiyar Ali for "forgery and money laundering." The Nacka District Court acquitted Ali of this charge on April 18, 2024.
