US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said regarding the attack on the American base on the Syria-Jordan border, "We will respond (to this attack), and this response will be multi-layered, it will take place in stages, and it will be sustained over time."

Stating that they are mourning the soldiers who lost their lives in the attack and that they are taking every possible measure to ensure such attacks do not happen again, Blinken reminded that the Joe Biden administration is evaluating military response options.

Responding to a question about how the US will respond, Blinken said, "As the President stated yesterday, we will respond (to this attack), and this response will be multi-layered, it will take place in stages, and it will be sustained over time."

Stating that they are not seeking a war with Iran, Blinken noted that tensions in the region have increased significantly since October 7 and that the US will continue to protect its interests in the Middle East.

ATTACK CARRIED OUT WITH A UAV

According to a written statement from the White House, President Joe Biden had stated, "Three US service members were killed and many were wounded during an unmanned aerial vehicle attack on our forces stationed in northeastern Jordan, near the Syrian border."

Stating that they are still gathering information about the attack, Biden had declared, "We know it was carried out by radical militant groups backed by Iran operating in Syria and Iraq."

Noting that those responsible for the attack will be held accountable at a time and in a manner of the US's choosing, Biden had emphasized that they would continue the fight in this war.

The Pentagon had announced that 3 US soldiers were killed in the attack in question and that the number of wounded soldiers was over 40.
