Speaking to Amnesty International, a group of Irish people called on US President Joe Biden, who comes from an Irish family, to stop arms transfers to Israel, demand a ceasefire in Gaza, and lift the 16-year-long blockade.
In a post on Amnesty International's X social media account, a call was made to US President Joe Biden regarding stopping Israel's attacks in Gaza.
The post stated, "Biden, this St. Patrick's Day, your roots are calling: demand a ceasefire (in Gaza) and stop arms transfers (to Israel)."
The post highlighted that more than 30,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's attacks in the occupied Gaza Strip, emphasizing that many of these individuals were killed by US-made munitions.
In the video included in the post, the Irish individuals called on Biden to demand an immediate ceasefire to prevent further civilian casualties in Gaza and to ensure access to life-saving aid.
The video stated, "Amnesty International has documented that US-made munitions killed 43 civilians (in Gaza). 19 of them were children, 14 were women, and 10 were men. It is time to stop arms transfers to Israel."
Furthermore, a call was made to lift the 16-year blockade Israel has imposed on Gaza and the apartheid system imposed on Palestinians.
The video concluded with the words, "President Biden: listen to your roots, listen to Ireland. Call for an immediate ceasefire."
