Arab Foreign Ministers demand 'immediate ceasefire' for Gaza

During a session on the Palestinian issue at the UN Security Council, the foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Algeria delivered speeches.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry stated that "there must be an immediate, unconditional, and sustainable ceasefire in the Gaza Strip."

GAZA DISCUSSED

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan said, "What we have witnessed so far is the international community's failure to stop the collective punishment and attempts at forced displacement of Gaza's residents by Israeli forces; this will not bring us any closer to the security and stability we all desire."

Stating that "the Security Council's silence is unacceptable," Bin Farhan emphasized that it is time for the Security Council to take action to halt military operations, protect civilians, lift the blockade, and ensure the entry of aid.

EMPHASIS ON PEACE AT THE UN

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi also said in his speech at the UN Security Council session, "Those who want to support Israel support stopping the war and achieving a comprehensive and just peace. Those who want to fulfill their responsibility toward the Palestinians also support stopping their killing and achieving a comprehensive and just peace."

Safadi noted the following:

"Any attempt to export the crisis created and deepened by the occupation to neighboring countries will certainly not end until the occupation itself ends. This is a threat to our national security, and we will oppose it with all our might."

Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf also said in his speech that "in the near term, the Security Council is expected to lift the unjust siege imposed on the Gaza Strip and stop the indiscriminate bombardment and displacement of the population."
