Arakchi, who survived an Israeli assassination attempt, makes statement on 'negotiations': Sets his condition

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made statements to the Iranian press following a United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council session in Geneva, Switzerland, where he met with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot, and the European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas.

Araghchi reacted to Israel's attacks on Iran, stating, "The Zionist regime must immediately stop its attacks and crimes. As long as these attacks continue, we will not negotiate with any party."

"WE ARE CONCERNED BY THE FAILURE TO CONDEMN THE ATTACKS"

Araghchi stated that Iran will continue to exercise its right to self-defense, adding, "We are deeply concerned that the brutal attacks by the Israeli regime are not being condemned by the international community."

"IT IS A VIOLATION OF INTERNATIONAL LAW"

Emphasizing that Iran's nuclear program is peaceful and under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Araghchi stated that attacks on peaceful facilities are a grave violation of international law. He also criticized the failure of European countries and the EU to condemn these attacks.

"WE ARE OPEN TO A DIPLOMATIC SOLUTION"

Araghchi further stated that they are in favor of continuing negotiations with the European trio consisting of France, Germany, and the UK, as well as the EU, adding, "We are ready to meet again in the near future. Iran is open to diplomatic solutions, but our defense capabilities are in no way a subject for negotiation."
