Arctic cold grips the US

FREEZING RAIN PERSISTING FOR SIX DAYS
A state of emergency was also declared in the state of Oregon due to freezing rain that has been effective for 6 days, and it was reported that more than 107 thousand people were left without electricity.
It was stated that air temperatures in more than 12 states will remain below freezing until the end of the weekend, and a warning was issued that temperatures in Chicago could drop below minus 16 degrees due to the effect of Lake Michigan.
The Associated Press shared information that 45 people have lost their lives so far due to reasons related to rain, snow, wind, and extreme cold that have persisted in the country for the last two weeks.
Meteorology officials predict that starting from the weekend, extreme cold weather will give way to temperatures above seasonal norms across almost the entire country.
