In the US state of North Carolina, 4 police officers were killed and 4 others were injured after being targeted in an armed attack at a house they had entered to conduct a search.

Police officers who went to a house in Charlotte, North Carolina, to conduct a search with a court warrant in the evening were targeted in an armed attack.
Charlotte Police Chief Johnny Jennings stated in a briefing regarding the incident that officers were fired upon with a rifle as they approached the house where a suspect involved in a crime was located. Jennings explained that the officers returned fire.
Jennings reported that 4 police officers lost their lives in the attack, 4 were injured, and one of the injured is in critical condition.
Stating that the suspect was also shot and killed at the scene, Jennings noted that this was one of the worst incidents in Charlotte's history and that the investigation would continue to be deepened.
Meanwhile, the White House announced that US President Joe Biden has been briefed on the incident and is closely monitoring the developments.
