Arrest made in death of Russian commander Kirillov
Ahmad Kurbanov, a citizen of Uzbekistan, has been arrested in connection with the assassination of Major General Igor Kirillov, Commander of the Russian Armed Forces' Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Troops, who was killed in a bombing in Moscow on December 17.

Major General Igor Kirillov, Commander of the Russian Armed Forces' Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Troops, lost his life on December 17 in an assassination carried out with an explosive device mounted on a scooter. Following the investigation launched into Kirillov's death, Uzbekistan citizen Ahmad Kurbanov was taken into custody.
Kurbanov was arrested by the court. It was learned that the suspect's detention period will be 2 months.

In a written statement from the Kremlin, it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke by phone to discuss developments regarding the attack.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Kirillov and his assistant Polikarpov lost their lives in the assassination carried out at the entrance of an apartment building on Ryazan Street in Moscow on the morning of Tuesday, December 17.
Kurbanov was taken into custody during an operation conducted on December 18.
Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov claimed that the assassination in the capital Moscow, which resulted in the death of Russian commander Igor Kirillov, was a 'terrorist act' and that it was organized by the Kyiv administration.
