U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee has commented on claims that Israel provided intelligence to the Washington administration regarding a new assassination plot prepared by Iran against U.S. President Donald Trump.

INTELLIGENCE REGARDING ASSASSINATION PLOT AGAINST TRUMP CONFIRMED

Speaking to Fox News, Huckabee confirmed that Israeli intelligence had briefed U.S. authorities this week, stating, "Israeli intelligence informed our side this week; they informed the President and our officials that there is a very specific plan designed to eliminate President Trump."

NO RESPONSE TO AIR FORCE ONE QUESTION

Huckabee did not respond to a question regarding whether Trump's use of the old Air Force One aircraft instead of the new plane gifted by Qatar when departing Turkey was linked to this development.

In his assessment of the matter, Huckabee said, "I can only speak about reports that have been reflected in the public domain. There was a plan, Israeli intelligence detected it and shared it with the U.S. This is a matter known to the public, that is all I can add."

WSJ HAD BASED CLAIM ON ITS SOURCES

In a report by the U.S.-based The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) citing sources close to the matter, it was claimed that the Israeli government had shared intelligence with Washington regarding Iran's preparations for a new assassination attempt against Trump.

While the report did not share details on how or when the information was transmitted to the U.S., it noted that some U.S. officials were cautious regarding the accuracy of the intelligence. Sources speaking to the newspaper also suggested that Israel might have raised this claim to steer the Washington administration toward a more comprehensive conflict with Iran.

STERN MESSAGE FROM TRUMP TO IRAN

Following the allegations, Trump made a statement using harsh language toward Iran. Stating that they were prepared for a possible assassination attempt, Trump declared, "If they were to act on the threat of assassinating me or attempting an assassination, it would be immediately followed by thousands more missiles."
