Assassination of Russian general in Moscow

An improvised explosive device placed in a Russian general's vehicle detonated in southern Moscow. The general, who was critically injured in the blast, has died in the hospital.

In an incident that occurred in the south of the Russian capital, Moscow, a bomb placed in a Russian general's vehicle exploded. The blast took place in the middle of a parking lot and left the general critically injured.

Authorities stated that the incident was a targeted attack, announcing that an improvised explosive device had been placed under the vehicle. Local sources reported that the vehicle belonged to Major General Fanil Sarvarov, the head of operational training for the Russian Ministry of Defense, who was responsible for operations in Chechnya, South Ossetia, Syria, and Ukraine.

General Sarvarov, who was trapped in the vehicle following the explosion, was extracted after a rescue operation lasting approximately 7 hours.

The general, who was taken to the hospital, has passed away.
