A court in Russia has ordered the seizure of the assets, accounts, properties, and shares of Germany's Deutsche Bank.
The bank was a guarantor lender under an agreement signed for the construction of a gas processing plant in Russia, in partnership with the German company Linde. However, the contract was terminated due to sanctions imposed following the Russia-Ukraine war.
According to the Reuters news agency, the St. Petersburg-based joint venture RusChemAlliance, 50 percent of which is owned by the Russian energy company Gazprom, filed a lawsuit against Deutsche Bank.
Gazprom was also the executor of the project in question. The St. Petersburg Arbitration Court ruled for the seizure of the bank's securities, properties, and bank accounts in Russia, valued at 238.6 million euros. It was stated that the seizure order also applies to Deutsche Bank's subsidiary and the Deutsche Bank Technology Center.
