Attack on cargo ship off the coast of Odessa
Ukraine has announced that a Guinea-Bissau-flagged cargo ship was targeted off the coast of the Port of Odessa, and that 8 of the 18 crew members have been rescued.

Ukraine has announced that Russia carried out an attack on a Guinea-Bissau-flagged cargo ship sailing off the coast of the Port of Odessa in the Black Sea. Ukrainian Prime Minister Sergii Koretskyi reported that a fire broke out on the ship during the attack and that rescue operations for the crew have been initiated.
According to Koretskyi, the ship departed from the port after loading corn. There were 18 crew members on board, consisting of citizens from India, Syria, and Ukraine.
It was stated that 8 sailors, 2 of whom were injured, were rescued during the operations conducted by the Ukrainian Navy. The statement reported that 5 sailors lost their lives in the attack, while 5 others remain missing.
Koretskyi noted that rescue teams were forced to quickly move away from the scene due to the risk of a second attack, but that efforts to extinguish the fire on the ship are continuing.
