Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, made statements regarding the leak of an audio recording in which German air force officers discussed whether Taurus missiles could destroy the Crimean Bridge to support Ukraine.
Arguing that no one knows whether German Chancellor Olaf Scholz was aware of these conversations, Medvedev stated that history is full of examples where the military can make decisions or encourage the initiation of wars on behalf of civilian leaders, even if they are unaware or have not issued such orders.
"GERMANY IS PREPARING FOR WAR"
Medvedev said, "They will come to Scholz and say: Mr. Chancellor, a missile was shot down in Ukraine. Judging by its type and trajectory, it was flying toward Berlin. What will Scholz answer? It is quite obvious. Therefore, attempts to present the conversations of Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) officers as a game of rockets and tanks are a malicious lie. Germany is preparing for war with Russia."
WHAT HAPPENED?
Margarita Simonyan, Editor-in-Chief of Russia Today (RT), had published a 30-minute audio recording of German officers.
The audio recording included a discussion among high-ranking German Air Force personnel regarding whether Taurus missiles could technically destroy the Crimean Bridge, which Russia built on the Crimean Peninsula, which it illegally annexed.
