Australia's 'Nazi' decision
In Australia, performing the Nazi salute in public and displaying or selling symbols associated with terrorist organizations have been banned.

The Australian Parliament announced that the bill, which was submitted to Parliament in June 2023 and passed in December 2023, came into effect on January 8.
Under the law, individuals who perform the Nazi salute in public, or display the swastika or the "black sun" symbol associated with the paramilitary organization known as the Nazi Schutzstaffel (SS), can face up to 12 months in prison.

Furthermore, the sale and trade of these symbols have also been banned.
The law in question also includes a ban on the public display of symbols associated with the PKK, ISIS, and Hamas, which are recognized as terrorist organizations by the Canberra government.
Australian Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus stated that the new law, which is the "first of its kind," ensures that "glorifying and praising terrorist acts" constitutes a criminal offense in the country.
