Australia's Qantas Airways to cancel 'first class' tickets sold at a discount
Australia's national airline, Qantas, has announced that 300 "first class" tickets sold at an approximately 80 percent discount due to a "coding error in its system" will be canceled.

According to a report by 9News, Qantas Airways announced that it would cancel the reservations of passengers who paid around 4,000 Australian dollars for first-class tickets on the Sydney-Los Angeles route, which normally retail for 19,342 Australian dollars.
A spokesperson for Qantas stated in a press release that they were facing a situation that was "too good to be true," adding, "As a gesture of goodwill, we are rebooking our customers in business class at no additional cost."
Noting that customers also have the option to "request a refund of the fare they paid and cancel their reservations," the spokesperson apologized to passengers for the "coding error" that occurred in their system.
The spokesperson added that there were 300 reservations affected by the system error.
According to the terms and conditions on the Qantas website, the airline reserves the right to "cancel the reservation or offer a refund" in the event of system errors during booking.
