Average of 75 murders per day in South Africa over 3 months
In the Republic of South Africa, one of the countries with the highest crime rates in the world, an average of 75 people lost their lives to murder per day between July and September of this year.

According to crime statistics released by the South African Ministry of Police, a total of 6,945 people were victims of murder between July and September 2023, including 881 women and 293 children.
Among those who lost their lives were 35 police officers killed in clashes with criminals.
OVER 13 THOUSAND RAPE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT CASES
During this period in South Africa, more than 50 thousand robberies and nearly 70 thousand theft cases occurred, while more than 13 thousand cases of rape and sexual assault were also recorded.
The city centers of Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Durban, along with the impoverished neighborhoods surrounding them, stand out as the areas where crime is most prevalent in the country.
According to official data, approximately 27 thousand people died as a result of murder in the country in 2022.
