Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss the ceasefire situation between the US and Iran.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that a phone call took place between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the current security situation in the region and the ceasefire that has been established.
Bayramov stated that he welcomed the ceasefire announced between the US and Iran, expressing that the establishment of the ceasefire is of great importance for reducing tensions, ensuring the successful conclusion of negotiations, and establishing stability. At the same time, the role of mediator countries, particularly Pakistan, in achieving the ceasefire was acknowledged during the meeting.
Bayramov drew attention to the importance of adhering to the ceasefire regime and expressed the necessity of resolving the situation through diplomatic means.
Bayramov also expressed his belief that the talks expected to be held in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, on Friday would be result-oriented and productive. Bayramov further noted that Azerbaijan is always ready to support initiatives aimed at strengthening lasting peace, security, and cooperation in the region.
In the remainder of the meeting, the ministers also exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
