Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, on the 20th anniversary of his first election as president, visited the regions that came under the control of the Azerbaijani army following the anti-terror operation carried out on September 19. First visiting the Sarsang Reservoir and the city of Aghdara, Aliyev hoisted the Azerbaijani flag in these locations.
Aliyev subsequently visited Khojaly and Askeran. Aliyev hoisted the Azerbaijani flag in both regions. Aliyev also visited the village of Malibeyli in Shusha and the town of Kerkicahan in Khankendi.
The Azerbaijani army launched an anti-terror operation on September 19 to restore constitutional order in Karabakh. The illegal Armenian armed forces in Karabakh laid down their arms after the operation, which lasted approximately 24 hours. The so-called Armenian administration, which had established an occupation regime in the region, announced that it had dissolved itself.
