While the Columbia University administration, which brought police onto campus, decided to switch to remote learning, 93 students were detained during pro-Palestine demonstrations at the University of Southern California alone, while police attacked students at Emory University with pepper spray and tasers.

BACKLASH AGAINST APPOINTED RECTOR NACI İNCİ'S POST
While the video in question became a trending topic on social media, the post by Boğaziçi University's appointed rector Naci İnci 'condemning' the detention drew backlash.
In his post in English, İnci stated, "We are deeply saddened by the arrest of the Chair of the Emory Philosophy Department. This troubling incident not only raises serious concerns about the state of academic freedom but also casts a shadow over the reputation of respected academic institutions. We stand in solidarity with the academic community raising peaceful voices against the atrocities in Gaza."
Citizens reacted sharply to İnci on social media, reminding him of the Boğaziçi resistance that has been ongoing for 1148 days.
