Ben-Gvir announces resignation

Israel's far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has announced that he will submit his resignation from the government tomorrow in protest of a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, but added that he would not attempt to bring down the coalition.

Speaking to Israeli media, Ben-Gvir claimed that Netanyahu had promised to dismiss Israeli Chief of General Staff Herzi Halevi, and that if he agreed to remain in the coalition, he would state that this was due to his own pressure.

DENIAL FROM NETANYAHU

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denied the claim that he had promised to fire the IDF chief if National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir agreed to remain in the government.

In a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office, it was stated, "Nothing was offered to Ben-Gvir. This is a complete lie."
