According to a written statement from the White House, President Biden and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim, discussed the situation in Gaza during their phone call.
HUMANITARIAN AID DISCUSSED
During the call, where the "need to protect innocent civilians in the region and the increase of the flow of urgently needed humanitarian aid into Gaza" were discussed, Biden expressed his satisfaction with the Gulf Cooperation Council's "support" for the region.
Biden expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim, toward the release of hostages held by Hamas, and the two leaders agreed on the "immediate release" of the hostages.
EMPHASIS ON EFFORTS AGAINST MIDDLE EAST CRISIS
In the call, where President Biden expressed his vision for a "Palestinian state where Israelis and Palestinians can live side by side in equal stability and dignity," the two leaders stated that they would continue their efforts regarding the "vision of a more peaceful, secure, prosperous, and stable Middle East."
