TRUMP SECURES 11 ELECTORAL VOTES

Republican candidate Donald Trump won the election race in Arizona, adding the state's 11 electoral votes to his tally.

In US presidential elections, voters essentially cast their ballots for the electors of the party they support.

In this system, called the "Electoral College," a total of 538 electors, distributed with different weights to each state, are determined.

The candidate who reaches one more than half of this number, meaning 270 electoral votes, earns the right to become president.
