Democratic members of the House Oversight Committee have made public a lewd birthday letter allegedly sent by Trump to billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of establishing a sex trafficking network and was found dead in prison.
In the letter, which was reportedly obtained from Epstein's lawyers and shared on the social media platform X, a hand-drawn figure of a naked woman contains an imaginary dialogue allegedly between Trump and Epstein. In the letter, Trump is seen using the phrases, "Jeffrey, we have some things in common," "Mysteries never get old, have you noticed," and "A friend is a wonderful thing. Happy birthday and may every day be another wonderful secret."
SHARP REACTION FROM THE WHITE HOUSE
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt described the letter, which was also brought to the agenda by the Wall Street Journal, as "completely fake." Reminding that Trump had previously filed a lawsuit against the newspaper due to baseless allegations, Leavitt said, "As I have said from the beginning, it is very clear that President Trump did not draw this picture and did not sign it. President Trump's legal team will continue to pursue the litigation process decisively." Leavitt also characterized the allegations as "fake news by Democrats aimed at continuing the Epstein lie."
