It is believed that the former prime minister, who was at Downing Street during the coronavirus pandemic, got this idea after watching a YouTube video.

In fact, information included in the inquiry revealed that he sent the video in question to a WhatsApp group that included senior health experts and Downing Street officials.

“ONE OF THE LOWEST POINTS”

Johnson’s former advisor Dominic Cummings accused the then-prime minister of “spreading misinformation during the pandemic” in a written statement he submitted, citing the hair dryer incident as an example.

In his statement, Cummings included the following remarks: “Johnson circulating a video of a man using a hair dryer up his nose to kill Covid. Furthermore, asking the CSA (Chief Scientific Adviser) and CMO (Chief Medical Officer) what they thought was one of the lowest points we reached.”

CSA Sir Patrick Vallance wrote in his pandemic diaries, which were examined as part of the inquiry, that Johnson was “obsessed with older people accepting their fate and letting the young get on with life.”
