Borrell issues statement on arrest warrant for Netanyahu
European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell has made statements regarding the International Criminal Court's (ICC) issuance of arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. Borrell stated, "It is not political and it must be implemented."

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell has expressed support for the arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
Borrell stated that the ICC decision is not political, that it was issued by a court, and therefore must be respected and implemented, adding, "The tragedy in Gaza must end."
The ICC's Pre-Trial Chamber I had issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in accordance with Articles 18 and 19 of the Rome Statute.
