Members of the Global Sumud Flotilla, who set out to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, had been detained by Israel. This morning, a private plane carrying the 137 detained activists took off from Ramon Airport in the Israeli city of Eilat and landed at Istanbul Airport. The plane carried a total of 137 flotilla participants, 36 of whom were Turkish citizens.

PASSENGERS INCLUDE INDIVIDUALS OF VARIOUS NATIONALITIES

In addition to Turkish citizens, the plane also carried citizens from the USA, the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Morocco, Italy, Kuwait, Libya, Malaysia, Mauritania, Switzerland, Tunisia, and Jordan. The returning activists are among the 440 individuals who were previously detained and held during the Israeli operation.

NUMBER OF TURKISH ACTIVISTS IDENTIFIED AS 48

The Global Sumud Flotilla Turkey Delegation announced that the number of Turkish activists detained by Israeli forces was 48. However, a total of 137 people, albeit from various countries, were brought to Istanbul on the same plane.
