Breaking News: Iran closes the Strait of Hormuz again

Tensions between Iran and the US have risen once again. A statement from the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reported that the Strait of Hormuz has been closed again. The statement said, "Following the agreements reached in previous negotiations, Iran had agreed in good faith to allow a limited number of oil tankers and commercial vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz in a controlled manner. Unfortunately, the Americans, known for repeatedly failing to keep their word, continue their piracy and theft under the pretext of a so-called blockade. For this reason, the control of the Strait of Hormuz has been returned to its previous state, and this strategic strait has been placed under the martial law and control of the Iranian Armed Forces."

It was emphasized that as long as the US does not end its blockade on ships arriving at and departing from Iranian ports, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz will be kept under strict control and will remain closed.

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced yesterday that the Strait of Hormuz had been opened for the passage of all commercial vessels for the remainder of the ceasefire. US President Trump, however, had stated that despite the opening of Hormuz, the US Navy would continue its blockade on all ships entering or leaving Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman until an agreement is reached with Tehran.
