Breaking News: Pakistan declares war on Afghanistan! 133 Taliban members killed

The Pakistani Ministry of Defense stated, "Our patience has run out; we have entered into an open war with Afghanistan." It was reported that 133 Afghan soldiers and 55 Pakistani soldiers have been killed in the clashes between the two countries.

The Afghanistan–Pakistan tension, which was halted in October 2025 through Turkey's mediation, erupted again yesterday.

The Afghan administration, citing airstrikes conducted by Pakistan along the border line, took counter-action and targeted Pakistani military points on the border.

The Pakistani Ministry of Defense declared war on Afghanistan, stating, "Our patience has run out; we have entered into an open war with Afghanistan."

Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif used the following expressions in his statement:

“It was thought that after the withdrawal of NATO forces, stability would be ensured in Afghanistan and that the Taliban would adopt an attitude that considers both the benefit of the Afghan people and regional peace. However, at this point, the Taliban has brought Afghanistan under India's influence. By bringing together militants from different parts of the world in Afghanistan, they have made terrorist activities external.

They have deprived their society of the most basic rights. They have eliminated the rights that Islam grants to women. Pakistan has made intense efforts, both directly and through friendly countries, and conducted comprehensive diplomacy to calm the situation. Despite this, the Taliban has become a tool for India. Today, when Pakistan responds to the attacks, thank God, our armed forces are responding with determination.

Pakistan's approach in the past was constructive. For half a century, we hosted approximately 5 million Afghans. Even now, millions of Afghans continue their lives on our soil. However, the limit of tolerance has now been reached. From now on, an open war will be waged against you. The fire has now been lit. The Pakistani army did not come from afar; we are your neighbors. We know your time and your conditions. Allahu Akbar.”

OPERATION STATEMENT FROM THE AFGHAN ADMINISTRATION

Afghan administration spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid reported that a large-scale operation targeting Pakistani military facilities along the Durand Line has been launched. Mujahid announced that 15 military points allegedly belonging to the Pakistani army in Khost, Paktia, Nuristan, and surrounding regions have been brought under control. It was reported that 55 Pakistani soldiers were killed.

133 TALIBAN MEMBERS KILLED

In the statement made by Pakistan, it was stated that Afghanistan opened fire on many points along the border line, and that Pakistani security forces responded to the attacks “immediately and effectively.” Pakistani Minister of Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar announced that 36 Afghan security personnel were neutralized and 2 Pakistani soldiers lost their lives in the clashes.

Minister Tarar claimed that 133 Taliban members were killed and more than 200 people were injured on the Afghan side during the operations. Stating that some points in Kabul, Paktia, and Kandahar were targeted, Tarar expressed that the death toll could rise.

The statement also claimed that 27 positions were destroyed, 9 points were captured, and numerous military positions, including two corps and three brigade headquarters, as well as more than 80 vehicles and weapons, were rendered unusable.

STATEMENT FROM THE PAKISTANI PRIME MINISTER

According to posts made on the government's X account, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated, "The entire nation stands with the Pakistan Armed Forces."

In the posts, it was emphasized that the army is "performing its duty with a national spirit," and the security forces were praised.

Sharif stated, "The people of Pakistan and its armed forces are always ready to protect the country's security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity."

MEDIATION MESSAGE FROM IRAN

Iran called for dialogue regarding the escalating tension between Afghanistan and Pakistan and offered a mediation message.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in a post on the social media platform X, stated, "The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to provide all necessary assistance to facilitate dialogue between the two countries and to strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation."

CLASHES AGAIN AFTER CEASEFIRE

The ceasefire reached between Afghanistan and Pakistan in October 2025 has effectively ended. The Afghan administration, citing Pakistan's airstrikes, launched attacks on military targets along the border line. The clashes quickly spread to different points along the border.

FIRST STATEMENT FROM THE AKP

AKP Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala made the following statement last night regarding the clash between Afghanistan and Pakistan:

"We are following the tension between Afghanistan and Pakistan with concern. We hope that the problems between the two friendly and brotherly countries will be resolved through diplomacy.

Turkey believes that the resolution of crises is only possible through constructive diplomacy and the strengthening of mutual trust. In this context, Turkey is ready to provide all kinds of constructive contributions to lower the tension in the region and restore stability."
