The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the ceasefire and hostage exchange agreement reached in Gaza will come into effect tomorrow at 08:30 (09:30 Turkish time).

In the first phase of the agreement, it is planned that 1,737 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails will be released in exchange for 33 Israeli hostages. The process, which is expected to last 42 days in the first stage, indicates that the ceasefire will be implemented in accordance with a three-phase plan.

Ministry Spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari stated in his announcement, “As coordinated by the parties to the agreement and the mediators, the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip will begin on Sunday, February 19, at 08:30 local time in Gaza (09:30 Turkish time)."

Al-Ansari warned, “We advise the residents of the region to be cautious, to exercise maximum care, and to wait for instructions from official sources.”
