Reza Pahlavi, the son of the former Shah of Iran living in exile in the US, has called on the Iranian people to rise up against the regime in a post shared on social media.
Pahlavi stated, "The Islamic Republic has reached its end and is collapsing. What has begun is irreversible.
The future is bright and together we will turn a new page in history.
Now is the time to stand up, it is time to take back Iran together. I may be with you soon," he said.
"WE HAVE A TRANSITION PLAN"
Claiming that the public should not panic following a potential revolution in Iran, Pahlavi said, "Do not worry about the day after the fall of the Islamic Republic.
Iran will not enter a period of instability or civil war.
We have a transition plan for the 100 days following the fall of the regime," he said.
Stating that he has received messages in recent days from the Iranian military, police, and civil servants, Pahlavi addressed the pro-regime security forces:
"Do not stand against the Iranian nation for the sake of a regime whose fall is inevitable.
Do not sacrifice yourselves for a decaying regime.
You can save your lives by standing with the nation," he said.
