Greek politician Charitsis, in a statement on his social media account, drew attention to developments in the Middle East and called on the Greek government to end its support for Israel's "lethal policies."
Charitsis stated, "The Greek government has a historic responsibility to the Greek people, international law, and humanity. It must stop supporting the Israeli government and its deadly policies." Emphasizing that the Netanyahu government is deliberately destabilizing the situation in the Middle East, Charitsis described Prime Minister Mitsotakis's silence in the face of these actions as "shameful."
Reminding that hundreds of people have lost their lives in Israel's recent attacks on Lebanon, Charitsis stated that the Netanyahu government is deliberately escalating tension in the region.
Criticizing the international community for avoiding the imposition of sanctions on Israel, Charitsis emphasized that as long as the Palestinian state is not recognized and sanctions are not applied to Israel, Netanyahu's criminal policies will continue to find support in the international arena. Charitsis also drew attention to the importance of the Greek government fulfilling its responsibility in this matter.
