Tensions continue to rise in the Strait of Hormuz following the recent clashes between the U.S. and Iran.

In a statement from CENTCOM, it was emphasized that the U.S. military continues to maintain its military presence in the Middle East region.

The statement said, "Today, as CENTCOM forces continue to support regional security and stability, more than 20 U.S. Navy warships are conducting patrols in waters across the Middle East."

The statement also noted that last month, U.S. Navy warships and air assets conducted close-formation sailing in the Arabian Sea to demonstrate the power and firepower of the American military.

This statement came following the mutual attacks carried out between the U.S. and Iran tonight and U.S. President Donald Trump's statement during the NATO Summit held in Ankara: "The ceasefire with Iran is over for me. I no longer want to make a deal with them."
