CENTCOM: US aircraft fired precision munitions

Following a notification from the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) that "a fire broke out in the engine room of a tanker 20 miles northeast of the port of Sohar, Oman," a statement came from the US.

In the statement made by CENTCOM, it was said, "US forces have disabled another oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman for the second consecutive day, following another vessel that violated the ongoing blockade by attempting to transport oil from Iran.

CENTCOM disabled the Palau-flagged vessel M/T Settebello during its transit through the Gulf of Oman. A US aircraft fired precision munitions into the ship's engine room after the crew repeatedly failed to comply with instructions from American forces," the statement read.

Providing information on vessels granted passage, CENTCOM also stated, "Since the blockade began on April 13, it has disabled 8 vessels that did not comply with the rules, directed 134 vessels that complied with the rules, and allowed the passage of 42 vessels carrying humanitarian aid."
