CENTCOM: We have carried out a new attack on Iran

In an official statement released by the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), it was stated that new airstrikes have been carried out against Iran.

Following the military activity in question, initial reports regarding the attack have also begun to appear in the Iranian press.

Reports in local media stated that explosion sounds were heard in Iran's Sirik region and that the village of Mesen, located on Qeshm Island near the Strait of Hormuz, was targeted in the attack.

EXPLOSION SOUNDS IN SIRIK

Meanwhile, it was reported that 2 new explosion sounds were heard in the city of Sirik, which was attacked a few minutes ago.

UAV STORAGE AND AIR DEFENSE FACILITIES TARGETED

It was reported that air defense facilities, unmanned aerial vehicle storage facilities, and mine-laying capabilities were targeted in the attack.

The US Central Command used the following expressions in their official statement on their social media accounts:

"US Central Command (CENTCOM) forces, at the direction of the Commander-in-Chief, conducted additional strikes on multiple targets in Iran on June 27.

Following the strikes conducted by the US yesterday in response to Iran's attack on the M/V Ever Lovely, Iran was given the chance to comply with the ceasefire agreement, but Iranian forces chose not to do so by launching a one-way attack drone that struck the M/T Kiku at 04:30 (ET) this morning. The Panama-flagged tanker was sailing near the Strait of Hormuz with more than two million barrels of crude oil.

CENTCOM forces conducted strikes today in direct response to continued Iranian aggression against commercial shipping. US military aircraft targeted Iranian military surveillance infrastructure, communication systems, air defense facilities, unmanned aerial vehicle storage facilities, and mine-laying capabilities.

Commercial shipping continues to transit the Strait of Hormuz. US forces remain vigilant, lethal, and ready."
