China calls for de-escalation in US-Israel-Iran conflict

China has issued a statement regarding the rising tensions in the Middle East. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated, "The three-month-long US-Israel-Iran war has deeply affected the Gulf region and the wider Middle East. Recent events have clearly demonstrated that military methods do not produce solutions and that the arbitrary use of force only makes the situation more complex."
Pointing out that negotiations between the US and Iran are at a critical stage, Lin said, "No party should restart military conflicts. The sovereignty and territorial integrity of regional countries must be respected, and these principles must be upheld."
Stating that China calls on the relevant parties to exercise restraint, Lin Jian emphasized that all confrontational steps that could escalate tensions must be avoided. Lin expressed that the parties should take concrete steps to lower tensions, resolve disputes through political and diplomatic channels, and work together to ensure a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire as soon as possible.
Israel struck Lebanon despite the ceasefire
Israel had carried out an airstrike on the Tyre region of Lebanon in the past few hours, despite the ceasefire currently in effect with Lebanon. At least 8 people lost their lives and 32 were injured in the attack.
Iran had launched missiles at Israel following the strike on Beirut
Iran had warned during the negotiation process with the US that Israeli attacks on Lebanon could reignite the conflict.
Following the airstrike carried out by the Tel Aviv administration on the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on June 7, Iran launched a ballistic missile operation against Israel in retaliation. After neutralizing the missiles launched from Iran, Israel responded with a retaliatory strike against Iran.
The parties announced yesterday that they had mutually ceased attacks. However, the Tehran administration warned that if new attacks were carried out against Lebanon, they would conduct more devastating strikes against Israel.
