China, facing a tariff war from the US, seeks to deepen economic ties with the EU

It has been reported that China is seeking to deepen its economic ties with the European Union (EU) in the context of the tariff war it is experiencing with the US.

In a report by the Financial Times, it was stated that "Chinese officials and companies are trying to build closer relations with the EU in the context of the trade war launched by (US President) Donald Trump."

On the other hand, sources argued that EU governments have very few proposals to offer to People's Republic of China delegations, as many European companies are not inclined to invest in China.

It was also suggested that the EU fears becoming a dumping ground for Chinese goods that are not being sent to the US due to high tariffs.
