It has been claimed that US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet face-to-face next week. In reports based on two unnamed sources in the US press, it was alleged that Trump stated during a phone call with European leaders that he plans to meet with Putin in person next week.
The reports claimed that after his meeting with Putin, Trump plans to hold a trilateral meeting with Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, noting that European leaders would not be included in this meeting. No official statement has been made by the US or Russia regarding the claim.

US President Donald Trump, in a statement regarding the meeting held by his Middle East Special Envoy Steve Witkoff with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Russian capital Moscow, stated that Witkoff had a highly productive meeting with Putin and said, "Great progress has been made."
Stating that he had informed some of his European allies about the meeting, Trump touched upon the Russia-Ukraine War and said, "Everyone agrees that this war must end, and we will work on that in the coming days and weeks."
