Coca-Cola has decided to recall thousands of mislabeled lemonade cans from the market. The company stated that these products, labeled as Minute Maid Zero Sugar, actually contain the full-sugar version.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) assessed this situation as a "low potential health risk" and classified the incident as a Class II recall. This classification indicates that the mislabeling of the product could lead to potential health issues, but that this risk is remote.
COCA-COLA'S ERROR AFFECTED DIABETIC PATIENTS
According to product information, a regular can of Minute Maid Lemonade contains approximately 40 grams of sugar. This situation stands out as a significant error for diabetic patients and other individuals who wish to limit their sugar consumption.
The recalled products are 12-packs of Minute Maid Lemonade that were shipped to various retail stores in Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. Consumers can easily identify the recalled products by the codes FEB1725CNA or FEB1725CNB found on their packaging.
In a statement to CNN, Coca-Cola said, "All of the affected products have been removed from the market, and the recall process has been completed in these regions."
