Condemnation of the terrorist attack in Iran

The terrorist attack in Iran has been condemned by the EU and the UN. In a written statement issued by the EU, it was stated, "The EU condemns in the strongest terms the bombing that took place today in the Iranian city of Kerman. The EU stands in solidarity with the people of Iran. This act of terror has resulted in a large number of civilian deaths and injuries. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families."

"THOSE RESPONSIBLE MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE"

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres' spokesperson, Stephane Dujarric, said in a statement, "The Secretary-General strongly condemns the attack today at a memorial ceremony in Kerman, Iran, which killed more than 100 people and injured many more," adding, "The Secretary-General calls for those responsible to be held accountable and expresses his deep condolences to the families of the deceased, as well as to the people and government of Iran. He wishes a speedy recovery to the injured."

In the terrorist attack that took place near the grave of Qasem Soleimani, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force, who lost his life as a result of an assassination carried out by the US in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, on January 3, 2020, 103 people lost their lives and 141 people were injured on the 4th anniversary of his death in the city of Kerman.
