U.S. President Biden commented on his latest assessment of Netanyahu during a press conference at the White House where he announced new measures regarding border security.
In an interview with Time magazine, Biden, who had implied that Netanyahu was prolonging the war for his own political future, was asked what he thought about this issue.
When asked, "Do you think Netanyahu is using the war as political leverage?" Biden replied, "I don't think so. He (Netanyahu) is trying to work through a serious problem."
While this statement by Biden was interpreted as an "inconsistency" in the American media, reference was made to Biden's remarks in Time magazine.
In his interview with Time magazine, U.S. President Biden had stated that there was every reason for the public to conclude that "Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is prolonging the war in Gaza for his own political future."
