Critical meeting between Biden and Netanyahu
In a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, U.S. President Joe Biden stated that Israel should not launch an operation in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip without a credible plan to ensure the safety of civilians.

According to a statement from the White House, U.S. President Joe Biden held a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
During the call, the two leaders discussed negotiations regarding a hostage exchange, with Biden noting that they would work hard to ensure the release of all hostages as soon as possible.
Biden emphasized that Israel should not launch an operation in Rafah without a credible and executable plan to ensure the safety of civilians.
ISRAEL'S PLAN TO ATTACK THE RAFAH REGION
Israel, which has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians in its attacks and occupation of Gaza, has forced the majority of the population from the northern and central parts of the region to crowd into the city of Rafah on the Egyptian border.
Israel now intends to launch a ground invasion of the southern region—which it had declared a safe zone for those in the north throughout the attacks—and forcibly displace the population from there.
It is estimated that around 1 million 400 thousand civilians are trapped in Rafah.
The international community is warning Israel that a comprehensive attack on Rafah would cause a new and major tragedy.
