Critical summit between Donald Trump and Zelensky at the White House: We must force Putin to the table

Ukrainian President Zelensky went to the White House to meet with US President Donald Trump.

Zelensky was welcomed by Trump at the White House entrance. The two leaders posed for cameras at the White House door before their meeting.

Highlights from the statements made by the two leaders are as follows:

US President Donald Trump stated, "After the Middle East, it is Ukraine's turn. We want to end the war," while Zelensky said, "We need a ceasefire, Putin does not want peace." Regarding defense spending, Trump said, "Spain has not remained loyal to NATO. I think Spain should be penalized, but that is between NATO and Spain."

Commenting on the Nobel Peace Prize, Trump said, "I don't care about the Nobel Peace Prize, I want to end the war."

US President Donald Trump stated, "The Russia-Ukraine war will be the 9th war I will stop," while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, "We can provide drones to the US in exchange for Tomahawks."

US President Donald Trump responded to a question regarding the supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine by saying, "We will discuss this issue today."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated, "US President Donald Trump has a very high chance of ending this war. Trump showed us and the whole world that peace can be achieved in the Middle East. I hope peace can also be achieved for Ukraine."

Zelensky said, "We must force Russian President Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table. Today, we will talk with US President Donald Trump about what we will need."

US President Donald Trump spoke about the meeting expected to take place with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Hungary, saying, "It will likely be a bilateral meeting."
