According to reports in the Israeli press, Mossad Director David Barnea, US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director William Burns, and the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met in Doha yesterday as part of the resumption of prisoner exchange negotiations.
It was stated that Mossad Director Barnea would remain in Doha today as part of the talks to restart the prisoner exchange negotiations.
It was noted that the meetings between Barnea, Al Thani, and Burns in Doha would continue today.
Following the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in an attack by the Israeli army in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, on October 16, the issue of a prisoner exchange was brought back to the agenda by the US and Tel Aviv administrations.
It is stated that there are 101 Israeli hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.
