Dozens of homes were flooded in Russia's Chelyabinsk region after a dam burst due to heavy rainfall.

Heavy rainfall in Russia's Chelyabinsk region has caused a dam to burst.

Authorities stated that a 100-meter section of the dam at the Kialimsky reservoir collapsed, noting that four villages are under threat of flooding. Following the dam's collapse, numerous homes were submerged, and local residents climbed onto roofs to wait for help.

Officials said that hundreds of people have been evacuated and no deaths or injuries have been reported. The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has dispatched rescue teams to the area.
