Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen addressed US President Donald Trump's remarks about the US wanting to purchase Greenland ahead of the informal European Union (EU) Leaders' Summit held in Brussels, the capital of Belgium.
Frederiksen stated, "Greenland is part of Denmark today. It is part of our territory and is not for sale."
Frederiksen noted that she agrees with the US view that the Arctic region is becoming increasingly important when it comes to security and defense, adding, "If it is a matter of securing our region, we can find a way forward."
